SCREENPLAY WRITING

We teach our students the general arts of writing, starting from how to conceptualize an idea, developing the story using cluster, free-writing, or/and brainstorming and the Hollywood screenplay writing structure. At the end of the training by our professionals, our students write a standard screenplay which will be produced. We train you to be a freelance screenwriter with good storytelling abilities and imagination.

PRODUCING

With this course, we train you to become a Producer, who oversees all financial, legal and scheduling of a film production from development through filming to release and marketing. We train you to command the primary credit for any theatrical release.

PRODUCTION DESIGN

With our Production design course, we train you to become a professional production designer. However, a production designer or P.D is the person responsible for the overall look of a filmed event such as films, TV programs, video games, music videos or adverts. Production designers have one of the key creative roles in the creation of motion pictures and television. Working directly with the director and producer, they must select the settings and style to visually tell the story. The term "production designer" was coined by William Cameron Menzies while he was working on the film Gone with the Wind. Previously (and often subsequently) the people with the same responsibilities were called "art directors." 

It is pertinent to note that, as the production designer, you need to collaborate with the director and director of photography to establish the visual feel and specific aesthetic needs of the project. The production designer guides key staff in other departments such as the costume designer, the key hair and make-up stylist, the special effects director and the locations manager (among others) to establish a unified visual appearance to the film. 

We train you to become a professional production designer who also looks into property management, and other workers on the set. Production Design is an integral part of film, television, advert production and so on. 

                                             DIRECTING

Excitement, passion, surprise, beauty - these are the things we think of at Dollywood Film Academy while making a  film, and these are the things our students think about. All these are implausible unless the director's vision and imagination is wedded to a film grasp of the directing craft. With this end at heart, this PRACTICAL DIRECTING CLASS is set out to introduce you to the conceptual aspects of the craft, and to offer you a step-by-step approach that will take you from the screenplay to the script. Our resource persons are professionals in the industry as they have studied both home and abroad as well as engaged in real production. They are professionals who teach with years of experience. This training comes with tutorials, materials and everything that has to do with directing.

EDITING

Our Film and Video Editing class covers a range of applications on editing as it introduces our students to the usage of editing applications like AVID, ADOBE PREMIER and ADOBE PREMIER PRO, CS, Movie Maker, and a host of others. In each of this class, each student is entitled to a system as it is a practical class. It starts with setting up the computer, capturing, saving and so on. This class is very interesting as there is room for serious practical.
